South Devon Wild Camping was founded by like minded explorers, people who share a passion for the coast and the countryside. We want to share the beautiful area that we live in with you!

With the stunning Mothecombe Beach a short 5 minute drive away you’ll be able to taste the sea air as soon as you step out of your car! Whilst setting up your tent you will then enjoy views of the breathtaking Dartmoor in the distance - the beach and moors simultaneously...how cool is that?!

 The super funky School House Seafood and Tapas bar at Mothecombe serves delicious food all day long and their cocktails are something special....as well as weekly BBQ's and live music through the summer we are sure you will go back more than once.

With so much to do in the beautiful South Hams you really will be spoilt for choice with where to go and what to do every day of your holiday.

 

For those who like to be kept busy there is paddle boarding, surfing & kayaking, as well as biking and walking all available locally. We have glorious coastal walks for the avid walkers and many different beautiful birds for the keen bird watchers. We have even had an eagle spotted at Mothecombe Beach this year!

Here in the South Hams you will find our campsite has no noise or light pollution so you can spend your evenings gazing up at the starry sky. The South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts picturesque river valleys, unspoilt farmland, and miles of unbroken trails navigating the South Devon Coast Path. 

 

The walks in South Devon need no introduction and provide a wide variety of landscapes and different levels of challenge, from a level stroll through Avon Valley Woods to a coastal trek towards rugged and remote Gara Rock Beach.
